These are based on High Frequency Words (HFWs) and Tricky Words as in the Letters and Sounds book. I have grouped them by Phases. Each word will have a Super Search (find the word 10 times). Also there are Super Hero Challenges which have groups of the HFWs and/or Tricky Words. Words with apostrophes and I as well as a, have not been included. Great practice to use in class or at home.

A fun visual game that can be played in small groups, pairs or individually. There are four boards in total. Each board has it own set of word cards. Players pick a word card from a box or similar or turn a card over. They then read the word and find the picture of that word. Once they find it they can put a counter or similar onto it. If playing with more than one players, then each player will need their own set of coloured counters. Could also be used in connect 4 type games.

This pack has been redesigned and updated February 2019 This pack contains a set of 30 sound bingo boards for each set of sounds (Set 1, Set 2 Set 3) sounds and corresponding calling cards. Used as alternative to flashing sounds. Ideally laminate them and use whiteboard pens to dot them off as the sound as it is called out.

Sets 1-3 are included. Oh No! Game is an alternate to flashing sounds and the children have loved it! How to play Place all the cards in a small bag. Pass the bag around the group. Each child picks a card and says the sound on their card. If the children gets the sound right they keep the card (younger children may ask a friend for help). If the child picks an ‘Oh no!’ card they have to say ‘Oh no!’ and put any cards they have won back in the bag. (They can say ‘Oh no!’ in a silly voice)

Year 3/4 word hunts based on the Common Exception Words. Each word has a word hunt ( find the word 10 times) and there are word hunts challenges as well.

It covers the vowel diagraphs. I used it as an alternative to flashing and quick writing the sound. Children can either say or write the vowel diagraph when they land on it. If they don't get it right then I make them move back to the picture they were on before. Usually play this game in pairs and they have really enjoyed it. There are 4 boards. I have used haunted for the au sound but each board has a different picture.

Its based on the initial and final blends ( ccvc/cccvc & cvcc/cvccc words) There are 3 boards for both initial and final blends plus words cards. Please note there is no lp and xt blends as these didn't lend themselves to pictures.

Suitable for tables or to keep in trays for individual children. Print or double side the picture page with the correct word list page and the words will be on the back. Then just cut along the dotted lines, hole punch and thread through a treasury tag. Either laminate before cutting or after depending on preference. Either call out the sounds and children put a counter on the picture matching that sound or play it as I spy and children tell you what picture starts with that sound and if they are correct they put a counter on it. Could also be played in pairs. 4 picture boards and a set of sounds
